A user logs on at a secure web portal and finds an icon for all the applications that he or she needs. Applications launch through a citrix session allowing the application to run on the server farms.

The applications do not need to be installed on the user’s computer. This saves licensing costs and allows for the use of thin clients; cheap, small computers with nothing but a web browser.
