FiNDnet

Introduction and Overview

Our Flight Information and Display system, FiNDnet, provides a live operational database that centralizes all flight movement information. FiNDnet helps coordinate airport activity by providing the right information, to the right people, at the right time.

By eliminating the mistakes that can occur in traditional white board and paper based methods for tracking flights and services, FiNDnet saves time and reduces costs.

FiNDnet is reliable, accurate and secure, so the modern ground handling operation has immediate access to precise, real-time information in order to efficiently co-ordinate and track turn-around activities.

Designed as an advanced web-based application, FiNDnet can be delivered to the user’s browser across the LAN, corporate WAN or even Internet. With its secure Oracle® RDBMS back-end, FiNDnet can be relied on to provide non-stop service in the busiest airports.

Operational Database in Real-Time

Managing all of the activities involved in a ground service operation is a time consuming and expensive business.

Keeping track of flight movements and services is vital for revenue protection and yet this operation is usually left to a manual white-board and paper based process.

FiNDnet is an operational database that provides real-time access to all of the operations flight schedules and daily flight programs, records activities as they happen and automates the distribution of information to those people and systems that need it, when they need it.

Designed for the way ground service providers work, FiNDnet benefits users at all stages of the operation, from forward planning, through day-to-day handling and historical analysis.

With an established user community operating in many locations, FiNDnet is a powerful, flexible business tool that delivers immediate benefits.

Forward Planning

At the heart of FiNDnet is a comprehensive flight schedule management system.

Complete seasonal schedules are created by either automatic import of standard format schedules or manual ad-hoc creation. Stored locally, these schedules link to all subsequent information entered as the flight moves through the handling stages.

Flexible planning tools provide management information about such things as daily flight programs, aircraft down times and movement summaries, enabling much more accurate gate planning and staff allocation.

Flight movements can be broken down by both airline and aircraft type to provide detailed data for revenue forecasting - essential for complicated handling operations.

Daily Operations

The intuitive Flight Operations Centre provides the day-to-day controller functions for co-ordination, data capture and SITA messaging. Updates are transmitted immediately to the real time staff Display Monitors so everybody has access to the latest flight information - whether it is current flight status, delay codes, passenger and freight figures or general progress.

Display Monitors can be configured to display the live flight program on a departmental basis. These can be tailored for users such as Baggage Handlers, Police, Security, Immigration, Customs, Apron Control, Catering, Engineering, Ramp Services and many more.

FiNDnet automates many of the repetitive tasks associated with turning an aircraft around. For instance, departure messages that need to be sent to outstations, airport systems updated, ATC slots requested - and so on. FiNDnet's Flight Operations Centre is equipped with modules that can define the tasks to be carried out, and automatically execute them when needed, without intervention.

FiNDnet is designed to accept information from other systems, pass information on to other systems and capture information as close to the source as possible. For example, incoming movement messages update the status of the flight in FiNDnet, which then automatically passes on the information to the public FIDS system. No more re-keying information from one system to another and no more passing pieces of paper around. Everyone works with a common pool of information.

Performance Analysis

With so many parties involved in an airport operation it's often difficult to identify opportunities for improvement. FiNDnet's detailed performance analysis reporting tools deliver the information required to monitor service levels, analyze who did what, and when, and set new standards of operation.

Using standard IATA codes, on-time performance reports help pinpoint areas for attention, whilst load and movement reports help with revenue and variance analysis.

Financial modules let you capture all resources used and invoice against contract conditions as required, making sure that all supplied services are fully recorded and recharged.

FiNDnet's comprehensive management tools can also be used to export standard format data to other packages such as accounting, rostering and gate planning.

Flight Information Displays - FIDS

FiNDnet is available with a simple to manage public FIDS module. With flight information displays for arrivals and departures supporting carrier logos, multiple languages and full motion video advertising, the system provides everything needed for the smaller airport.

For existing FIDS installations, FiNDnet provides many automatic updates through targeted gateways. Public information is treated with particular care to ensure you have full control over what is provided - and when.

External Interfaces

All airport users can benefit from FiNDnet. It provides a common source of information for flight movement activity with real time links for systems such as SITA Type-B messaging, Airlines, FIDS and ATC.

Third party FiNDnet information displays can be tailored in thousands of different ways for external users such as Information Desks and Airport Management companies.

Architecture

FiNDnet is designed to operate non-stop 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with high resilience to failure of individual parts of the system.

FiNDnet is scalable enough to handle multiple airports as a common resource, whilst remaining flexible enough to be cost effective for a single airport installation.
